[Wataru starts the feed with a wave, a beautiful Glaceon next to him.]

Hi! I just wanted to check in with everyone since I'm, um. Kind of back in Goldenrod again.

[He looks... sheepish.]

I ended up back here sometime during that weekend nobody remembers, and I forgot to tell everyone about it. So... yeah! I'll probably be sticking around until after the holidays if anybody wants to meet up. After that I'm going to finish getting all of the Johto badges and then go back to Kanto.

So, what about you guys? Are any of you going to be in Goldenrod for the rest of December? And how many of you are going to take on the Kanto gyms? I don't know when I'll finally be able to go, but it might be cool to meet up over there, too!

[Just in case your character didn't feel like guessing, Wataru is in fact holding up yet another badge.]

We've got the Storm Badge, so now we've got Fly! Isn't that great?

We're going to start making our way back to Goldenrod now. I heard there was some stuff going on for Halloween there, so we'll probably stick around for that. Hey, is anyone else going to be there? We should hang out!

[The feed begins with a battle. It's a fairly typical one - Kee Keema the Feraligatr against a Snubbull just outside of Goldenrod. Given the huge difference in level, it doesn't take long for Kee Keema to win. Without warning, the video spins to the holder, one grinning Wataru.]

Hey! Today's August 29th, right? That means it's been exactly one year since I got here.

[He pauses. It's kind of a depressing thought, but he's determined to make the best of it.]

One whole year ago, I woke up in New Bark Town with Kee Keema here. Of course, he was just a Totodile then, heh. It was confusing at first, but when I realized what had happened... it was like a dream come true.

After that, I started traveling with Yuyuko. She was really nice... but she disappeared not long after. She's probably back home where she belongs, which is better. And after that, I met Kisa and Artemis and Savyna and Ritsu and traveled with them. And even later, I got to meet Artemis' little brother, Beckett!

[His smile falters slightly, but he manages to keep it up.]

Beckett and Savyna have left, but I still have so many more friends. I don't think I could name everyone... There's so many of you. You know who you are, though. At least, I hope you do.

[He takes a deep breath. Just a little more.]

So I guess what I'm trying to say is... thanks for making my year in Johto so great! Without everybody, it just wouldn't have been the same.

[The feed starts up facing the bottom bit of an inn doorway. With a little scrabbling, the Gear is turned towards a somewhat upset-looking Wataru. This may have something to do with the 6 foot Arcanine laying on his back.]

Toni evolved. Don't know how. Never let me near him with the stone before. Must've gotten at it when I was out.

[His sentences are quick and breathless, probably because it's a little difficult to breathe when one has a large fire dog on their back.]

Can somebody help me? I'm in my inn room. Door's unlocked.

[Wataru flinches as a drop of slobber hits him square on the shoulder.]

Ewwww!

[Later, filtered to Ritsu]

Hey, can I talk to you for a second?

[Action]

[When Wataru awakens, it takes a moment for his blurry eyes to take in his surroundings. This wasn't the Gasala Highlanders' lodgings. No, this was...

A wave of relief washed over him. Though he had more or less accepted his fate, he couldn't help but be grateful for Johto's timely intrusion into his life. This way, he'd be able to see everyone again before... well. That.

As he struggles to sit up after a week in bed, he can't help but smile weakly. Johto had ended up a little like a bonus stage. Somehow he'd met the requirements to get there again. Now if only he'd done enough to win instead...]

[Later; Video]

[When Wataru shows up on the feed, he's smiling. But something about the smile is a little... off. Like it's not as bright or happy as it should be.]

Hi everyone. This is Wataru. I just wanted to send out a message to say I'm awake now. Sorry if I worried anyone!

[Action for Goldenrod!]

[There is a kid derping about today, mostly around the busier streets of Goldenrod. The reason is pretty obvious: there's a Growlithe dashing ahead of him, a necklace trailing from its mouth as it happily makes its way aaaaaaaaaall around the city.

On the bright side, the Growlithe doesn't seem to be trying to lose its trainer. As if to add insult to injury, the Growlithe will stop whenever Wataru is stopped, only to start running again as he chases after it.

So, yeah. Expect to see a kid either running, taking a break from running, or quite possibly crashing into you!]

T-Toni... Give it back! That's... that's really important, you know!

Does anyone else have Pokémon that take their stuff when they aren't looking?

[The video starts up, focusing on a small Pokémon snuffling at the ground. When it realizes it's being watched, it begins running in excited circles, eventually becoming distracted and chasing its own tail. After a few seconds of this, the video turns to Wataru's grinning face.]

My egg hatched! Meet Meena the Skitty! She's just like a cat from my world. This is the second time she's started chasing her tail all day.

It sounds like lots of eggs have been hatching, but I don't think I've seen all of them yet. What did everyone get?

[Before he cuts the feed, he moves to scoop up Meena, who somehow ended up flopped on her back a little behind him. In the brief moment, viewers may notice a badge pinned to his coat that certainly wasn't there the last time he sent out a message...]

[Video]

[It begins with a Growlithe's nose snuffling up against the lense, only to vanish as a loud "KLAK" sound indicates the Gear has just been bitten. Now in the mouth of said Growlithe, the images move fast and shakily, but people with good eyes might recognize the insides of a room at the Goldenrod inn. In the distance, a certain young boy's voice can be heard.]

Toni? What are you-

...Oh no.

Here boy, don't play with that... just give it to me, okay?

[The voice gets louder as the boy approaches, but the Growlithe isn't having any of that. The images blur even more as it begins dashing around the room, only to stop and begin shaking violently as a hand grabs it, obscuring half the lens.]

Just... give... it... ba-

[Audio]

-ack! You're going to break i-

[Text]

[After that, the messages stop. It's not until a little later that a proper message gets out, albeit from a screen that is slightly blurred with moisture.]

Oh geeze... Hey, can anyone see this? Or hear it, or... anything. My Growlithe got a hold of my Gear, and some messages got sent out while I was getting it back. I hope it's not busted...
